Appendicitis

Yes, that's what I had. It all started on Wednesday morning about 4 am to be exact when I felt some pain. Being half asleep, I thought I was just hungry so I grabbed a slice of bread and went back to sleep. The next day I was still feeling sick, more nauseated, more pain. I ended up going to the Urgent Care who sent me to the hopital for a CT scan. Through all the waiting that we had to do it ended with surgery. The surgery went fine. I had to stay at the hospital 1 extra day cause the doctor thought I looked too swollen still. I told him that I didn't start out with a flat stomache but he still didn't budge. Now I'm resting in bed and taking it easy.

You can finally see a few teeth on Taryn. She actually has 6 teeth but the 4 that are on top (came in at the same time) are almost noticeable.
Here's Taryn doing her tricks. She ready for tumbling class.

It's always a suprise when I turn my camera on. Maylie likes to take it and take pictures of Taryn and everything else. I usually have to delete some pictures but only a few. I can't wait until Maylie is a photographer.

It's NOW official

We finaly switched over to the new plates. I've got to say I'm proud to be a Virginian because it only cost us $40 to register it.
Bye Bye Utah.
Only 3 1/2 but wants to be 16. Yikes. Can't even think about her being that big.
Just playing in the car while Daddy put on the new plates. In her head she's thinking "This is so much better then the car seat. Why can't I sit here?" Sorry little lady.

A Spooktacular Halloween!

Maylie was a Fairy Ballerina. On Tuesday night our ward had a Halloween party. Maylie had lots of fun. She did the cake walk and won a cupcake. She fished for stickered earrings and she threw a football in a tire ring. Then we got to have a trunker treat.
Taryn did preaty good in her outfit. Not much pulling on the hat. We almost didn't have her dressed up. Last min. shopping. It's a lttle big, so it will fit next year too.
The night of Halloween. Took a few shots before we headed out for the nights. It was a late night but really fun.
I love this picture of both of them. All I want to do is eat them up!!!!!!!

Maylie's preschool does a monthly field trip. This month as you can tell, we went to the fire station. Maylie got to sit in the fire truck. She was very hesitent about it. I think she had a good time, even if it didn't involve princess stuff. We also put together wooden fire trucks.
What do you think? I very happy how it turned out. I've had the idea for so long (in a magazine of course) and I finally did it. Instead of purchasing it through Eurway for $199. I probably spent $60. We have it over our bed. My next project is to make a headboard. Wish me luck.

Theodore Roosevelt Island

There are some really cool picture taking areas here. To bad I don't have a better camera.

Maylie took this picture. That is why you don't see her. Don't you think she did a awesome job?
She also took this one too. She's going to be my photographer.
I love it when my kids crunch up their noses. Maylie used to do when she was Taryn's age.
Maylie acting out like Taryn but without the crunched nose.

Fabulous Table and Fabulous People

Beautiful Taryn already for dinner. She never misses a bite of food.
Maylie wanted us to have lunch with her. We had fruit with ham sandwiches. Pretend of course.
If you like modern stuff you need to check out West Elm. They are the best. We got this table for $250. We thought it was a good deal. It's called a Butterfly table. It has leaves stored underneath. You can fit two more chairs on the sides. We just haven't purchased them yet.

Almost 8 months

Taryn almost has it, though she still hasn't figured out lay down to the sitting up position.
Taryn's already for softball. And look even left handed.

Maylie's first picture she drew all by herself. She says it's a dog.
Maylie always wanted to be Cinderella. This was taken at Cox's Farm. We went there for a field trip with her preschool friends. They had a lot of slids and farm animals. We got to see how a cow is milked and ate free apples that were so crispy. We also got to take home a free pumpkin.

Taryn had no trouble adjusting to solid foods. She just loves the flavored puff stars.
Lounging on the side of the Potomac River on a Sunday afternoon.

Today was an adventure....... we were heading to Maylie's preschool and got lost. I don't know if any of you have been on the 495 Beltway here but its's a huge circle. There are all these other intersections that go off the 495 Beltway and I just happen to pick the wrong one that put us in no mans land (meaning I didn't know where we were). I prayed and prayed that we would find our way. Just when I was about to give up we found the right street that lead us to the right area. It only took an hour to get to preschool but we made it. When I got home from dropping Maylie off it was about time to go and get her. I had just enough time to feed Taryn and grab myself a sandwich then we were off again. The traffice here is horrible and plus there are too many trees in the way. I can't see were I am going. I need to be able to see everything. I got used to Utah. I will adjust someday but for now I will just drive with half blind folded. (figure of speech)

Today was Maylie's first day of preschool. She had a fun time playing and doing crafts. There is a total of 6 kids in her class.
I need some help! I am desperately looking for new recipes for dinner. I find myself having the same meals over and over. If you have any easy, quick, not a lot of cooked veggies in them (that's for Joe) then I need to have them. Amber-you can just give me the recipe for the rolls. That would be great. If you want to email me, email me at janabanana00@gmail.com. Thanks

All the buildings are connected under ground (House of Representatives, Senate and the Senate offices and the Capitol), which makes for a long walk if they didn't have the train. It was a tiny train with big windows so you can look out. We all enjoyed the ride.
We found our statue. We instantly found Brigham Young. He was the only man with a beard.
We are standing in the center of the city.
After the Capitol tour we went to the Natural History Museum. Maylie loved it. Brittany- Maylie kept saying that Brian would love this place. I don't know where she got that. Maybe they talked dinosaur/animal stuff before.
Maylie was eager to pose by the aniamls.

If you can tell Joe is in front of a Mammoth. Those things are huge without all his skin and fur.

We wanted to take of picture of Taryn naked to show how big she is. We never did this with Maylie cause at her age she was still too small or just about to get fat. (I can't remember) I love how fat this girl is. I squeeze her thighs everyday.

For our 5 year anniversary Joe and I went to a Legg Mason tennis match. We were really excited to go thinking that Roddick would be in the semi-finals since he has won several times but ended up losing the game the night before. We watched people we didn't know but still had a good time. We got there a hour before it started to have a burger and fries. This is the tennis racket that I need to use. I wouldn't miss a ball.
This was our view of the tennis match. Not too bad. The stadium wasn't that big. Joe and I would trade off with Taryn so we ended up not sitting by each other. One of us would be down by the gate. We both didn't mind though since it was closer to see the players.

I love love love this man. I still can't believe I married "Cute Joe" from Centralia. (that's what my friends and I would call him). It's been 5 wonderful years. I'm so excited that I have eternity with you. You are the love of my life babe.

I weigh in at 18pds 3.2 oz and I'm not even 6 months yet.
I don't know if every kid does this... Maylie goes around the whole pool hanging on the side. She is fearless.
It's been too hot to tour so we've been sitting at the pool side.
Maylie took this picture. What a great job she did. Capturing the spit-up.

Clemyjontry Park

Joe is such a monkey. I tried to do but I couldn't get off the ground. It was funny.
Maylie is so brave!
This is the best teeter-toter (sp) in the world. It doesn't fling you off when someone else is trying to get off.
We got Taryn to sit by herself for a min. She was happy to sit on the dolphin.

Joe's workout for the day!
Maylie jumped up all by herself.

This is the best park ever..... there's so much to do here.
