Maylie's preschool does a monthly field trip. This month as you can tell, we went to the fire station. Maylie got to sit in the fire truck. She was very hesitent about it. I think she had a good time, even if it didn't involve princess stuff. We also put together wooden fire trucks.
What do you think? I very happy how it turned out. I've had the idea for so long (in a magazine of course) and I finally did it. Instead of purchasing it through Eurway for $199. I probably spent $60. We have it over our bed. My next project is to make a headboard. Wish me luck.

Theodore Roosevelt Island

There are some really cool picture taking areas here. To bad I don't have a better camera.

Maylie took this picture. That is why you don't see her. Don't you think she did a awesome job?
She also took this one too. She's going to be my photographer.
I love it when my kids crunch up their noses. Maylie used to do when she was Taryn's age.
Maylie acting out like Taryn but without the crunched nose.

Fabulous Table and Fabulous People

Beautiful Taryn already for dinner. She never misses a bite of food.
Maylie wanted us to have lunch with her. We had fruit with ham sandwiches. Pretend of course.
If you like modern stuff you need to check out West Elm. They are the best. We got this table for $250. We thought it was a good deal. It's called a Butterfly table. It has leaves stored underneath. You can fit two more chairs on the sides. We just haven't purchased them yet.

Almost 8 months

Taryn almost has it, though she still hasn't figured out lay down to the sitting up position.
Taryn's already for softball. And look even left handed.

Maylie's first picture she drew all by herself. She says it's a dog.
Maylie always wanted to be Cinderella. This was taken at Cox's Farm. We went there for a field trip with her preschool friends. They had a lot of slids and farm animals. We got to see how a cow is milked and ate free apples that were so crispy. We also got to take home a free pumpkin.

Taryn had no trouble adjusting to solid foods. She just loves the flavored puff stars.
Lounging on the side of the Potomac River on a Sunday afternoon.

Today was an adventure....... we were heading to Maylie's preschool and got lost. I don't know if any of you have been on the 495 Beltway here but its's a huge circle. There are all these other intersections that go off the 495 Beltway and I just happen to pick the wrong one that put us in no mans land (meaning I didn't know where we were). I prayed and prayed that we would find our way. Just when I was about to give up we found the right street that lead us to the right area. It only took an hour to get to preschool but we made it. When I got home from dropping Maylie off it was about time to go and get her. I had just enough time to feed Taryn and grab myself a sandwich then we were off again. The traffice here is horrible and plus there are too many trees in the way. I can't see were I am going. I need to be able to see everything. I got used to Utah. I will adjust someday but for now I will just drive with half blind folded. (figure of speech)
